Rain mixed with Hail

We had to skip running "the pigtail" this morning because it rained overnight and was still drizzling a bit this morning. We'll have to look for more great roads as we continue our trip. We had to plug a hole in the tire on the trailer that Jim is pulling behind his bike before leaving Rapid City [I use the term "we" very, very loosely here]. By the time we got on the road the rain had stopped, but forecasts called for possible rain throughout the day. We were able to avoid it much of the day, but we did get to experience rain mixed with hail. It was like having torturous pin-pricks all up and down my shins. What fun. Thankfully, it didn't last long.

The weather is getting cooler and cooler as we travel further northwest. How I wish I had brought my heavy leather jacket and my wool "long john" shirt. I had both ready to take but changed my mind at the last minute trying not to overpack and save space. Over the next few days, I think we may see some pretty cold weather. If so, I may have to pick up a warm shirt to layer with.

We had a long travel day [about 497 miles]. We ran through a small span of Wyoming before entering into Montana. We are staying the night in Bozeman, Montana. Should have some good scenery tomorrow and maybe some fun roads! Hoping for good weather too!
