We found some curves!

Tuesday morning, we left Kerrville in search of some curves. Before leaving on our trip, we had read a little bit about three roads in Texas that they call Three Sisters or Twisted Sisters, so we set the day aside to go check it out. The road between Kerrville and The Three Sisters actually had better curves than the main ride, but after spending two days on the interstate I was happy to find a curvy road to lean into, anywhere we could find one.

After returning to the hotel room, we showered off the heat of the day and headed out to San Antinio. We checked out the Alamo, had dinner, and then walked along the River Walk, before heading back to our rooms for the night.

Day Two

So, this is where I complain about interstate riding. Day two, was another day where we spent almost the entire day on the interstate. Have I ever mentioned that I really don't like this part of the journey? BLAH! We started the day around 8am, and were thankful for a couple of hours of cooler temperatures, but after that it was really, really hot. Lots of water drinking going on! We drove 520 miles and stopped for the night at Kerrville, Texas. Tomorrow, we plan to ride the rodes nearby that make up the "twisted sister" (Co. Rd.'s 335, 336, & 337). Gotta find some curves!

2015 Tour underway

it's hard to believe it's been almost a year since our last motorcycle trip. Time really does seem to be on fast forward a bit these days, but it's exciting to be heading out on another part of the journey. On the morning that we left Jamie, Ginny Laine, John, Sarah and Jack came and gave us a big send off. Scott, Eddie, and Jim and I left from our place in Calera. We met up with Candy on our way out of town, as we headed down Highway 25 towards Montevallo, and then on towards Tuscaloosa. Almost the entire day was interstate driving (which I always prefer to avoid). We drove through Misissippi, and into Louisiana, headed towards San Antonio. On our first day we drove 460 miles and stopped for the night in Breaux Bridge, LA.

2015 Crew

Our 2015 crew line-up includes Jim's brother Scott, his cousins John & Eddie, and our friend Candy. John will fly out to meet up with us on Tuesday in the San Antonio area. Eddie's son Justin, Justin's girlfriend Kelly, and Scott's girlfriend Sherry will fly out to meet up us is in Pheonix, Arizona next weekend. Oh, and of course me and Jim! :) We have a good group again this year, and it's going to be a great trip!  Let's get these bikes rolling!!
