50 day motorcycle ride across America!

Jim’s birthday wish for his 50th birthday . . . a 50 day motorcycle ride! So, off we go . . . We’ve been preparing to leave for a couple of weeks now. Jim’s brother, Scott, came up from Florida yesterday and we spent the evening packing the bikes up. Got to bed after midnight! The three of us left this morning around 7:15 and met up with our friend Raymond, who is also traveling on part of our journey with us. It started raining before we left the Birmingham area. We had just stopped for gas and discussed the rain chances. After deciding that it wasn’t going to rain on us, we pulled off without rain suits on. So . . . we had to stop and suit up. We traveled 468 miles today going through five states [Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri]. We travelled along the interstate for much of the day, but before we stopped we FINALLY found some curvy roads. We are staying the night in West Plains Missouri. I hope to get my second wind tomorrow as I am REALLY exhausted. Not getting enough sleep last night and traveling such a long day is really telling on me. Tomorrow should be some great motorcycle riding (twisty roads)!
